The only snow rally in the 2010 WRC will offer a fantastic viewing experience as the Drivers battle to control their cars at speeds of up to 130 mph on sheet ice and snow!
The Swedes create an atmosphere second to none in the WRC, with campfires lit to keep the spectators warm, whilst it will probably be the only time you will walk across a frozen lake to get to a WRC stage!
Temperatures stage-side vary between -10C and +5C generally, but with the sun shining the cold is not a problem and the feeling is similar to the 'dry cold' experienced when skiing in the Alps.
The rally returns to the 'snow-sure' Northern stages around Likenas and Syssleback for the first time in several years - so expect plenty of wintery conditions come February 2010!

Self Drive Tours - General Information
For those who want an element of adventure mixed in with their WRC spectating, Rally Sweden is ideal. Access roads are kept clear of snow, and whilst there may be a coating of ice on the surface the stages are easily accessible by hire cars that come equipped with studded tyres.
‘Self-Drive’ bookings include our much sought after Rally Info Pack with Stage Maps, detailed spectator information on the best viewing points we have found, GPS points, & the Official Programme.
Wherever you stay with us in Sweden you will have access to our Spectating Presentation hosted by our experienced Rally Travel Representatives each year in Hagfors or Karlstad on the rally eve.

SWE003/004 - Safsen accommodation details
Our accommodation at Säfsen consists of separate, cosy, rustic log cabins located close to Hyttan & the ski slopes. The log cabins are equipped to a good standard & are open plan with kitchenette, dining area for six people, living room with TV & three-piece suite, heating stove, veranda, cable TV, and drying cupboard.
Each cabin has two separate bedrooms and a total of six beds (all Bunk-Beds). The bathrooms have a shower and drying cupboard. Outside there is a veranda & ski cupboard. There is also an car engine pre-heater socket by each cabin. The cabins are approx 50 m2.
Note: the holiday village is approx 2.5 km from the alpine area.
SWE003/004 - Safsen Resort Information
There are 16 'downhill' ski runs, 6 lifts and 115 km of cross-country tracks at the modern alpine centre at Säfsen and a popular childrens area (Filuriland). In addition it is possible for guests to go on a snowmobile safari, try out the illuminated toboggan slope by the holiday village or relax in one of our wood-fired hot tubs.
Both private and group ski/snowboard lessons are available as is the hire of equipment and of course ski passes for individual days or the week.

Escorted Coach Tour - Provisional Itinerary
Wednesday 10th Feb 2010
Transfer from Stockholm-Skavsta Airport to the Broby Hotel in Sunne (200 miles) following arrival of RyanAir Flight FR56 from Stansted.
Rooms are en-suite with Shower, WC & TV. The hotel has a restaurant and themed 'Pub' & is close to the cente of the small town of Sunne.
Thursday 11th Feb.
Morning transfer to the Shakedown stage where
the WRC cars will complete several runs + Service Area.
Evening Transfer to the Super-Special stage/Ceremonial Start.

Escorted Tour - Flight Options
We have built our Escorted Tour around RyanAir Flights FR56 & 57 to/from Stansted - Stockholm Skavsta airports to allow guests to book the cheap RyanAir flights currently available.
This means that our bus will leave the airport as soon as flight FR56 has arrived - unfortunately we cannot wait for anyone coming in on a different flight which is delayed!
Guests wishing to join our Tour from outside of the mainland UK can purchase a 'connecting' flight into Stansted and then join flight FR56 to Stockholm-Skvasta. We recommend guests wishing to do this fly into Stansted on the previous evening to ensure there are no delays on the Wednesday morning which may result in missed flights to Sweden.
Rally Travel have twin rooms at the Stansted Hilton available from as little as £78 per night.
An option for those wishing to avoid the lengthy Bus journey is to fly into Karlstad airport with either SAS or Skyways and then take an hour long taxi ride direct to our hotel in Sunne.

Please don't confuse our Info Packs with others available - we are the only company to send staff out to drive over the actual rally stages prior to the rally to make detailed notes and directions for you.

Stage 1 & 3 Fredriksberg 1 & 2 (18.14km)
1st Car Due : 08:01 & 12:09
A real Swedish Rally classic, and packed full of great spectating areas – you really can’t go too wrong on this one!
Spectator Area 1A Hedtjarn
The stage begins with an excellent section through the pine forest and twists and turns several times around a small lake, giving spectators a great opportunity to see the cars more than once through the section. You can see for some distance here and the walk is normally around 400-500m from the car parking area. This opening section lasts for 2.5km (very fast RH bend approx.1km from the start) and can be accessed from the official car park near the start, or by parking along the 208 road and crossing the frozen lake to meet the stage at a left-right sequence of bends.
Parking is near the start area or alternatively you can park and walk across the frozen lake if conditions are permitting.
Spectator Area 2C Fagersta
Access from the south via ‘Älvsjöhyttan’ village and towards ‘Älvsjöbeden’ has been pretty good in the last couple of years, although late arrivals do have a long walk into the stage. Try not to follow the signs off to the right (east) in the village as this access route was poor, with some very long walks from the car-park area. The stage is good here also with a fast straight into a sharp left hand bend through some houses.
Please note – this is a good access route but you do need to arrive early to this parking area or expect a very long walk into the stage.
Spectator Area 3C Yxtjarnshojden
Turning right off the main road 3.3km north of the junction near the start (heading north towards Fredriksberg) brings you along a good access road, which joins the stage on a fast straight before a tight left-right series of 90 degree bends. Near this section, around 7km into the stage there is a sequence of 3 small jumps (access from the 522) which are always popular and very spectacular. After the jumps there is a very fast and exciting left hand bend at the end of the straight followed by a difficult right hand bend over a bridge. It was just along from here in 2003 where Harri Rovenpera crashed into Juuso Pykalisto’s car which had spun and blocked the stage, a terrifying incident captured for posterity on the Finn’s in-car camera...
Access to this section is from the North on the ‘522’ road with parking on the access road itself. Please note there is a road which joins the stage from the south at this point but this will be blocked off by the Organiser’s this year again.

1. As most of our tours sell out many weeks before the Rallies
themselves it is important that you contact our Reservations Team
on 01765 640055 (0044 1765 640055 from outside UK) to
check the availability of your selected Tour.
2. After confirming the price of your tour, our Reservations Team will advise on your flight options, which you can then book yourself, or we can assist you with.
(Transaction is between you & the airline - We do not buy/sell flights)
3. For bookings made more than 8 weeks before the tour a deposit of £100pp will be required to secure your booking (£50pp deposit if tour cost<£150pp). For bookings made less than 8 weeks prior to the tour, payment will be in full.
4. Payment is taken by VISA, Mastercard, Delta or Switch/Solo
cards. To confirm your booking Rally Travel will issue a 'Confirmation Number’ & send out a booking form which needs to be returned to Rally Travel within 14 days of the booking.
5. Your Rally Info Pack will be sent by post approx. 5-7 days prior to your departure.
