2011 Tour will be on sale soon - please see the following pages from our 2010 tours for information only.

From a Spectator point of view 'ADAC Rally Deutschland' is perhaps the best kept secret in the WRC as it features a good variety of spectacular and well-organised stages, and a service area & Super-Special in the beautiful historic Roman town of Trier, which is also the rally's base.

Throw in the many wine-tasting tours amongst the Mosel Valley
vine-yards, the Eifel Fun-park, and the Nurburgring race-circuit
& Rally Germany has something for all the family!

Vineyard Stages...
Within an easy 30 minute journey from our Trier Hotels there are some of the best stages in the rally held through the vine yards of the picturesque Mosel Valley. The highlight is undoubtedly the incredible Dhrontal stage where a seemingly never-ending series of hairpin bends can be seen from the one viewing area. Details are contained in our exclusive Rally Info Pack available to all Rally Travel customers.
Saarland Country Stages...

Some of the fastest tarmac stages in Europe take place in and around the open, flowing countryside surrounding the old service area at Bostalsee . Some sections on the Bosenberg, St. Petersberg, and St. Wendler Land stages are absolutely flat-out and require total commitment from the Drivers, particularly given the often changeable weather conditions...

Baumholder...

The stages held on military ground around the Baumholder USAF base are infamous within the sport following a series of huge accidents over the past years, including Petter Solbergs lucky escape in 2004 when the Subaru driver crashed heavily after hitting several of the concrete 'tank-traps' (hinklesteins).

For the spectator there is the chance to see the cars several times from one viewing position as they struggle for grip on the mixture of concrete/tarmac/gravel surfaces. It's now almost traditional for the odd thunderstorm to liven up the proceedings during Saturday afternoon as well, & in 2010 it is planned to run a challenging 48km long stage over Baumholder making it the longest in the WRC...

Please see below an excerpt from our 2005 Info Pack which demonstrates the detail we include:

SS2/5 Dhrontal 1 & 2 12.61km

In our opinion Dhrontal is one of the best spectator stages in the entire World Championship, and one of the classic Vineyard stages of Rallye Deutschland. The stage traverses the vineyards, and clings to the side of the valley taking in some real high-speed, narrow sections and a number of steep uphill hairpins along its length. From the top of the vine-yard at Spectator Area 1 (Galeria Dhron) there is an unparrelled view of the stage with the cars taking in a total of 7 hairpins in front of you!

The stage also takes in a flat-out section along the main road to Neumagen-Dhron, something which you don’t find very often on tarmac rallies in the modern WRC. For 2005 the stage is back to it’s original length, losing the controversial opening section used last year, so expect the car parks to be busy if you arrive late.

Spectator Area 5C - Keltingrab
A completely new viewing area last year and a chance to see the cars braking heavily on cold tyres after the flat-out opening section along the main Neumagen-Dhron road. Spectators are placed in an old vineyard where the stage turns very sharply right through a junction onto the narrower road. Access and car park as per Area 3B & 4C but continue as far down the main road as you are allowed before parking up.

Spectator Areas 4C – Leinenberg
Access from the parking area on the main Dhron-Papiermuhle road same as Area 3B, and this time a further walk brings you to a sharp left corner into a right hand junction. From memory it’s a bit slow but has a large enough area on the inside to house a lot of spectators. There are better places to watch on this stage though…

Spectator Area 3B – Dhrontal-Kehren
A good section at the bottom of the vine yard, which whilst lacking the full panoramic view of Area 1A at the top of the valley, does give a good view of a series of 6 hairpin bends as the cars climb up from the main road. The atmosphere here is normally good with a large crowd gathered on the banking surrounding the hairpins, and a commentary position, food stalls, toilets etc.

In 2003 there was a very long walk across the opposite valley to the stage, but last year spectators were allowed to park along the main Dhron to Papiermuhle road, which hopefully should also be the case this time, making for a much shorter walk again!

In the past a bit further along the main road there has been another spectator area which gave entry to a fast downhill section through the trees, before an open viewing area where spectators could see the drivers really attacking the fast K-Right bend which takes them onto the main road.
